Created from a series of stills shot driving from Texas to New Mexico and back, this film creates a blueprint for an imaginary film. The stills were shot as location scout images for a film that was never made. By assembling the fragments and complementary soundtrack the ghost of a film can be felt in these unrealized moments or fragments. Moving without moving.

Installation for Vivid Festival at Museum of Contemporary Art Sydney — part 1 of 8.

The first of a series of eight films I created that played as a video installation at the Museum Of Contemporary Art in Sydney as part of the Creative Sydney/VIVID Festival.

We shot all of these films using live in camera effects, using a filter to refract and reveal the different colors of the spectrum. Live lighting effects were used to trigger the various looks -- kind of painting with light, finding different rhythms and emotions unique to each moment. The idea of the films is about how we all have different sides to ourselves and how we reveal them differently to others depending on what kind of light we find ourselves in.

A visual experiment that mixes streaking long exposure video of colored lights at night with samples from the Sophia Loren film "The Raffle" directed by Vittorio De Sica.

The film is a love letter to the swirling all consuming emotions of falling in love and trying to forge a connection amidst the noise, where sometimes everything feels like it's happening all at once.

HAMRTYME juxtaposes rapper MC Hammer with his later incarnation as an ordained minister, MC (Man of Christ) Hammer. We see Hammer’s iconic dance bleed in and out of the digital ether as though traveling across time as it meets a voice recording of MC Hammer the Preacher from his days in the church.

In this piece I wanted to play with the idea of one’s past and future lives meeting someplace else, and the notion of how mercurial identity can be. We’re asked to wonder how these two men are the same, how they’re different, and which one, if either, might be a truer expression of the divine. MC Hammer's work as a preacher was built around using his voice to bring people together, and in a sense he’s doing the same thing with his music. Given you can only live one life at a time, I wondered what it would be like to see these two aspects come together, what kind of message they would send to one another when combined.
